About Sonshine Families
Mandate
Sonshine Families is licensed by the Ministry of Community and Social Services to provide residential care to children and adults of all ages in both Foster Homes and Group Homes.
Purpose
Sonshine Families provides treatment and care within a Christian valued setting for children and adults. Placement with our agency is often an alternative to institutional placement.
Objectives
Provide services to our clients who present various behavior, development and/or physical challenges
Establish a therapeutic setting in foster and group homes, to assist in the development of the client as a person, including his/her physical, spiritual, emotional, social, recreational, and educational needs
Help clients attain their maximum potential
Create a cooperative, constructive team spirit with the placing agency or family
Administer specialized therapy from our professional staff or community resources as required
Supply respite/relief programs including special need individuals
